LOVE STORIES UNFOLDED - Featuring Topaz and Steve

Welcome to 'Love Stories Unfolded'—a heartwarming collection of real wedding stories where Finn & Wild couples share their stationery journeys.

To introduce my new 'Love Stories Unfolded' Series, I thought I'd start with my own wedding to my husband Steve in June 2021. The wedding that kick started Finn & Wild after hugely enjoying designing, printing and assembling my own wedding stationery.

1. How did you two meet and could you share a favourite moment or memory from your wedding?

Steve and I met whilst working at RBS in 2015, we often had the same breaks and were friends until Steve told me he liked me the following year. I had plans to go solo travelling for 6 months in September 2016 and had concerns about dating before I left. After deciding to give it a go and spending time together we were soon unseperable. Steve joked about meeting me half way through my trip for a week, and suddenly we were planning the whole trip together. We were told by many that it was a bad idea for such a new couple, but we decided to go ahead with the trip on the understanding that we could go our seperate ways if it didn't work out - well needless to say 7 years later, a wedding and two children that it worked!

A favourite memory from our wedding is dancing along to our singer in my sisters garden, we had a small intimate wedding at St Augustines Church, followed by a meal with a private chef, a singer and our immediate family at my sisters house. It was perfect, and I wouldn't change a thing.

2. What inspired your choice of stationery?

When it came to thinking about stationery I knew I wanted something floral, with pink flowers and foliage included to match our colour scheme, we had pink flowers in rose gold jars on the tables. I wanted my designs to be fairly simple and straight to the point. Funnily enough, I don't actually have many pictures of my stationery besides this below of scratchcard favours.

3. What advice would you give to other couples current planning their weddings?

The main piece of advice I would give is to plan the wedding that you and your partner wants, not that any one else wants. As soon as the word wedding is mentioned, it seems everyone thinks they have an opinion, but the only opinion that really matters is yours. The second piece of advice I'd give is, don't stress the small details. Some decisions may seem huge and make-or-break prior to your wedding, but in reality on your wedding day you'll be so wrapped up in the love of your marriage and guests, that you won't even notice.

Thank you for reading the very first in the Love Series Unfolded series, if we have worked together on your stationery and you would like to get involved please send me an email to finnandwild@outlook.com. I'd love to share your story!
